The mower deck will work, however the brackets will not. You will have to find brackets for the A. You did not say, but I hope you have a Super A as the bracket for an A will be different and not as easy to find. If there is a belt with the mower, it will work as the Cub and the Super A and140 use the same belt. The L 59 (L means left hand) is the usual mower for the Super A. The cub mowers are often right hand but either can be made to work. It's just how the belts are installed. Rotation can't be changed on the deck, as blade bolts on L mowers are LH thread and R mowers have RH threads to keep the bolts from coming loose.
