Looked at a SMTA today, not like I really need it but would be a project. Has single wheel front, usual live hydraulic pump plumbed into a Dual model 250 loader using loader reservoir and not hooked into hydraulics under tank. Live PTo, TA. sheet metal very straight and loader looks pretty good except for dump cylinder. Loader not on tractor except for frame. Bad point is motor is stuck, probably from leaving muffler open and has set for a while that way.Makes it pretty impossible to check out TA or PTO or transmission. Rear tires worn but looks like they would hold air, tires and rims look ok. Guy wants $1000 but might come down a little. What do you think for value? Oh also noticed looks like block is 248, believe my other SMTA has a 261 or something.

Today's Featured Article - Tractor Traction - by Chris Pratt. Our first bout with traction problems came when cultivatin with our Massey-Harris Pony. Up till then, this tractor had been running a corn grinder and pulling a trailer. It had new unfilled rear tires and no wheel weights. The garden was already sprouting when we hooked up the mid-mount shovel cultivators to the Pony. The seed bed was soft enough that the rear end would spin and slowly work its way to the downhill side of the gardens slight incline. From this, we learned our lesson sinc ... [Read Article]
