I think the Knoedler seat is adjustable without tools. I don't think four bolts is that outrageous when changing the seat position in the first place. If using tools is too much work, buy four extra bolts and weld some tabs of metal onto them to turn them into winged bolts. Then you could just turn them in and out by hand.
If you are going to drive it just to move it you wouldn't need to change the seat position anyhow. We have people running our machines from 5'6" to 6'+ with the same seat position. I know there is an even bigger difference from a 4' tall second grader to an adult, but it is something to be dealt with. Is he strong enough to push the clutch in all the way? I would also look into the M&W (or look alike) clutch cheater thing that makes it easier to push.
