Cub n M in OrCam said: (quoted from post at 06:45:23 04/28/10) As I posted a few days ago, I need a new cam gear for my MTA. I was going to start calling around looking for a used one, (and CIH for a new one)but want to make sure I get the updated, heavier, gear. I see the part number listed on CIH website for the M through 450 is 6760db. Is this the new universal number? If I ask for that number, I want to make sure I don't the older lighter weight M gear...
Thanks, Ben
Whenever a certain part is upgraded or improved, that part then gets a new part number, or a suffix is added to the old part number to reflect the improvement, and then the old design is made obsolete and no longer manufactured. I will guess that the part number for the original M cam gear is 6760, and the db suffix reflects the upgrade to 450 standards.
