They can usually be bought cheap - not much higher than an M in comparable condition but you get twice the tractor with live PTO, live hydraulics (with a large reservor), a two point (that can easily be turned into a three point) and the 6 cylinder gas engine runs for thousands of hours between overhauls.
As said below they are not good on fuel if you pull them hard - but who plows with one anyway? But using them for hay and blade work they probably run about the same as a diesel given the differance in fuel prices. And they start a lot easier in the winter.
