Check the #'s on the left side of the block near the oil filter base and make sure that it is indeed a 291 and not a 263up dated to a 291 and if this is the case then you will need the sleeves for the 263 to 291 as the flange widthe is larger on the 263 block and then they bore the block to take the wide flange sleeve to fill the gap . Pistons are the same but the sleeve is wider at the flange on this update. . Also it may have been a replacement block that was a 263 to start with if you find no #'s on the left side of the block.
