The only way to really check is to take the tractor out, hook it to a REAL load, lug it down, then pull the TA lever. If the tractor downshifts and keeps moving, then it's probably okay. A reasonable facsimile would be to put the tractor in road gear, get it moving, stomp on the brakes, and pull the TA lever. A properly adjusted TA will hold the tractor in one spot on going uphill with the clutch halfway out. That is, you can let off the brakes and the tractor won't roll back down the hill.
