In the same vein, the USMC used to run amphibious tractors (AmTracs, otherwise known as personnel carriers) with two flathead Cadilac V8's; one for each track. They were probably steered with a pair of gas pedals. Probably Korean War stuff. They were target practice for 3.5" rocket launchers (Basookas) when I served. The concept of dual engines isn't dead. Jeep showed us a four wheel drive, four wheel steer, front and back V8 last year. Those concept people have too much time on their hands.
