If you know someone who is a machinist, he may have a machinist handbbok, which will give you the info for the proper clearances for the application. Or if you know someone who is an engineer, he may be able to help. Different applications will have different tolerances.The i.d. tolerances I work with, for bearings, is .0004. The o. d. of the bearing will fit in a bore with .0006. And that will be different for other applications as well.
