You are better off. You will be much happier with an IH plow. I have seen too many JD plows that cannot get in the ground. IH made the best plows in the day. I read your previous posts. I would look for a 2 bottom and steer away from the 3s. I have a Farmall 300 and can pull 3-14" in sandy loam but not in clay. It gives the old 300 a decent workout pulling a 2-14" in sticky clay. I have not done anything to the motor yet and the TA is out on the low side. But there is no sense working your tractor hard and on the TA anyway.
