A while back, I posted a question regards repairing a leak from the control valve on the Touch Control unit on my Farmall C. I wondered if it could be done without removing the unit from the tractor. New boots and O rings now installed in the control valves and they seem to be holding. Old O rings were there, but flattened and hard. As to replacing with the unit on the tractor, I think that would be about impossible. I ended up removing it and doing the work on my work bench. Also, I determined that the cavity around the cylinder rods is the domain of the mud daubers. Don't see how a little insect can haul so much dirt! There was only space for the mechanism to move. Everything else back in there was full of mud dauber nests. You really can't get back into that area until the unit is off the tractor.
