The seal on my 240U was installed wrong cause compression spring that holds ID of seal to shaft was off. My pump is a Cessna. I ended up grinding a chanfer on the edge of step that seal rides on so spring wouldn't pop off. And of course seal is pressed into ID of housing. I wet stoned where seal rides on shaft also but if yours has a worn groove where seal rides it will never seal. My 1hr quick fix turned into a 4hr rebuild of pump Worked so good that had to change suction hose cause pump vacumn collapsed it and had to lower relief valve setting. Hope this helps BC
