Rick: I didn't think you were taking this awfully serious. See my responce to Charles. I found it very easy to forget those old gassers and their round steel seat, couple that with one spot for each leg and foot all day. I will say, the old 2 bangers would have been easier to forget.

Ah, when the tractors of the 60s came along with their platform you could change your position in. Those first cabs weren't much, but at least when I go to farm events today and see those old guys that spent a lifetime on open tractors with seat hanging over the drawbar. It's no damn wonder they are all humped over, crippled up, etc. Man I remember those nights when my new bride would bring me lunch, she would reach up with lunch, I grabed her hand and landed her right in the seat with me. That 656 with its platform and those big flat fenders, under the stars. You can only imagion what went on there. Try that on the seat of a Super M.

I don't remember the light bar tool box. Our H didn't have a tool box, my dad bolted an old milatary box on the side frame. I remember the W4 and 300 having tool boxes under fuel tank.

Today's Featured Article - Gatherin of the Orange - by Rick Nikolich. In July of 1998 I was talking to fellow Allis Chalmers collector Mike Schilling about the annual "Gathering of The Orange" AC show coming up in August of 1999. He got this wild idea that we should get a convoy of AC tractors and drive them from Charlotte, Michigan 105 miles to LaGrange, Indiana. ... [Read Article]
