I'm not sure how the M routed the oil but some feed from the mains to the cam and as the cam rotates oil is directed through a hole in the cam to a hole leading to the top so just a metered amount is fed to the top at each cam rotation. So if the holes in the cam bearing don't line up with the holes in the block you won't get oil to the top. Bob
