You want about 12% of the total laaded trailer wt. on the hitch...like others have said you want the truck to go down a some.....depends on the size of the truck....just make sure the load on the truck and the loaded trailer wt is not over loading your truck....if after traveling down the road the trailer wants to sway ...move the load forward on the trailer--- thus putting more hitch weight on the truck....if the truck feels tail heavy, move the trailer load back off the hitch......
