mk, I had trouble with a tractor that sat for a few years and I was working by my self. I took one of our tractors and put a belt on the pulley you have to criss cross it so it turns over the engine in the right direction set the brakes on both tractors engage the pulley system on the tractor that doesn't run, use your clutch on the good tractor turned the engine over for about 4 or five minutes it started to fire then disconnected the belt then was able to use the starter, just took the belt to turn the engine over fast enough to seat the rings and flush the old fuel through. Hope this helps a little.
