C.A., I'm guessing you've got a Delco SI one wire. Those guys like to spin at 2 to 3 thousand RPM before they get "excited" enough to charge. I'm not sure what kind of pulley ratios you have, but you might want to go - if you can - to a smaller pulley on the alternator to get it to start charging at normal engine RPM. There's a web site I saw some time ago that give a whole story on how to change the internal regulator to make it trip at lower speeds. If that's what you'd rather do, let me know - I'll see if I can dig up that link. Steve
