Duane - Like Kelly C suggests, lift the front end off the ground a bit (jack under the clutch housing), then hit the top of the bolster shaft. Helps also to remove the lower bolser/wheel ass'y (4 bolts). This removes much of the mass from the front end assembly and results in more "power" into the pivot shaft from your hammer blows. Make sure however to put some blocks or something under the bolster pivot shaft to catch it when it breaks loose. The spline is tapered (at least it is on mine) - when it breaks loose it does so all at once!
