I think the majority of the tractors weight is in the rear so the wide front doesnt make much difference. If I was shopping for a better side hill mowing tractor, I would go with one lower to the ground or just wider overall, rather than worry about wide/narrow front. Currently, I use a jd 70 and an MD, both narrow fronts. -Greg
