Our 826 has the later D-358 out of a 1420 combine in it and it starts much better than the original. Our 826 had the cable for the injector pump but the combine engine doesn't. That cable sets the fuel pump to full fuel to help it start. Most newer pumps do this automaticly untill the get oil pressure which is why they put out the puff of black smoke when you fire them up.
