You'll need to hunt around a little, David, to be sure it's in the final drive. Those clunks can carry a ways in cast iron and sound like they're where they're not. Make sure your wheel lugs and rim bolts are tight first. They're the most common culprits for what you're describing. There's not much to clunk in the final unless you've got a bad bearing. Don't rule out the possibility, despite the low hours. Condensation building up in long idle periods could have deteriorated the bearings, either on the bull gear or up where the differential shaft comes in. Let us know how you're making out with it!
