And you can't forget the chains and binders. The good stuff you should have is costly, especially if you're only going to use it once. There was a real good thread two or three weeks ago over on the Tractor Talk board started by a fellow called Tiny about how to safely load, secure, and haul a tractor. Well worth looking up. I'm assuming you're looking at a one-time haul. It may be worth hiring it done -- added expense, but a lot less hassle. Depending on the distance involved, that may be worthless advice. I agree with the esteemed Mr. Welsch, few things will bring a tear to the manly eye with greater effect than the fraternity of a good tractor hauling trip. But . . .
