you need to turn the front (one towards the front of the tractor) screw IN, I would go about a half turn at a time, those PTO units are extremely tempermental as far as getting them adjusted right. On ours, in order to keep them from slipping in heavy going, I have to turn the screws so tight that the PTO won't ever turn off - which is a bit of a safety hazard at times. Best of luck with yours!
