I hate to be the contrarian here, but the bolster on my B was angled forward when I bought it, and sp when I had it apart I looked around at other tractors to see if that was right and saw them both ways so I did an experiment. I tried it forward, then took it off and tried it backward. I didn't notice any appreciable difference in the steering. Of course, my steering U-joint is shot, so I have a lot of free play, so that didn't help my experiment much. I left it angled back, for the reasons the others have outlined, but in my case it didn't seem to matter.
