Tom. In the early 50es in the sandhill of NE. 2 of us could change all the ledger plates in about a 1/2 hr. on 7ft. bar. Add a 1/2 hr. if we had to replace both end plates. The 1st time will take longer if you have to drill each rivet and use center punch. We used a cold chisel to cut rivets from bottom. Bar in transport pos. Guy on top hold ledger and rivet (3/4 to 1 in. longer than called for) and back up, guy on bottom used 4# hammer bent rivet back, did all ledgers, lower bar and set with punch. Used piece of R/R iron as back up. Guy on end of bar lifted bar just anough to move iron. In 6 yrs. only had one come lose. Hope this of help. Enjoy safely. MD
