Jason r: I went back and quickly scaned the early note. I din't see a mention that water level MUST be high enough to allow FLOW in a NON water pump system. Can't have a gap at the top from too LOW a level. You said water in radiator seems warm but then a few seconds later it is BOILING? Thats a partial PLUGGED flow somewhere that "lets-go" when it gets to a really hot temp. Someone didn't place a thermostat "someplace" in the hoses or whereever to raise the temp and its opens too late or near boiling? Funny repairs have been known to happen. I'd work more on checking radiator & hoses befor "replacing block." That's a biggy project just to get normal cooling. Doesn't take too long to remove radiator again. Not fun but quicker to do again than replace block. Gotta be a plug "letting-go" ONLY when TOO HOT and ALLOWING flow? Hope this helps some. ralph ralph
