That is the "dual fuel" tank. You fill the small tank with gasoline for starting, and the large tank for the distillate or kerosene when using the tractor. They started it on gas, then when it starts up they switch it to the distillate. Now days people don't use that small tank, they just use the large tank for gasoline. Andy.
