Hey Mike I raise a few Barbados Black Belly sheep for meat here, and I have done a little of that. I recommend Timothy, Clover mix. (60/40) I have 20 acres in this. This will give them that extra protein they need in the summer, the down side to adding clover is you can't spray the whole thing for weeds, as it will also kill the clover. Another downside is it attracts deer like crazy. I have 4 acres planted with a pasture mix I got from the farm store. It seems to be better for drought conditions then just plain Timothy. We usually have 3 months of no rain, and low humidity. It really takes a toll on pasture in the summer
