like i had said in an earlier post the reason the people went to deere in the first place was because either ih wouldnt stand behind there tractors or when they did replace em most people never went back to pick up there tractors. one the final drive went out that really hurt ih, if they would have spent more time in testing instead of marketing ih would probley be the leader in the tractor industry now, when they came out with the 350/450 series they new they where pushing the limits and that was on a 4 cyl. 50hp tractor then when they came out with the 6cyl. which had more torque and more hp they over exceeded the limits and they knew it too. now like i said before we use a mix of tractors on our farm and when mantniced right will give trouble free sewrvice for many years. heres some faults of the ones we have. A.C.: to slow and the 200 which we have had some problem with the rearend also. IH: the final drive. JD: the 24 volt system absolutly LOVE to eat batteries, was like that up until the 55 series. i have no problem with any tractor but they all have there faults and if soem people are so hard headed to over look what happend 30,40, 50 years ago thats there fault. we used to have a 560 diesel with 2250 ih quick-tach loader and i loved it, but now we have a 966 1456 and had an 806 diesel with no T/A. we have a 3020 gas 2 late model 4020's and a 4240. AC we have a d17 series 4 and 200. all have been good tractors and no complaints. wish everyone could get along with all brands of tractors as i do....but some are just set in there ways i guess...

Today's Featured Article - Gatherin of the Orange - by Rick Nikolich. In July of 1998 I was talking to fellow Allis Chalmers collector Mike Schilling about the annual "Gathering of The Orange" AC show coming up in August of 1999. He got this wild idea that we should get a convoy of AC tractors and drive them from Charlotte, Michigan 105 miles to LaGrange, Indiana. ... [Read Article]
