Cheg, I did that same job on a newly acquired trailer just last week. I'm sure it doesn't matter which side of the coil is grounded...or there would be a way to identify which is which. Be sure to use a round trailer connector so you have enough conductors for a properly wired ground. I believe in keeping the plugs standardized, so you can interchange several trailers between several vehicles. Are you using an electronic controller? George Willer
