There's no doubt the friction type throttles like the M & W's have advantages over the sawtooth/notched that are original on styled letter series Farmalls, but to me they sure look "tacky" on a otherwise nicely restored tractor. The original types can be repaired but it takes some real effort to build up the the "A" edge on the lever and redo the sawtooth or square notches on the quadrant and then you should use a new spring. Sometimes restoration can be pretty challanging, but the reward of knowing you "did it right" makes it worth the effort--usually.
