I tried the same thing except I turned down my little 120v arc welder and filled in the holes using a tiny welding rod. The hard part is redrilling the holes in the same place. The way to do it is to weld up one and use the other as a templet for drilling the welded one and then weld up the second and then use the repaired one as a templet for the second. Use a drill press. I wound up using the weights from the second distributor I bought. So all that work turned into micro welding practice. ( I got an A+ )
