I disconnected the backhoe from the tractor and spent some time cleaning years of grease and dirt from the control assembly. The sticking stabilzer control rod had a subtle bend in it mixed with crud which was forcing the plunger down at a distressed angle and jamming the mechanism. I was able to free up the valve and get it smooth again. Everything was cleaned and the rod was straightened, hoses replaced and seems to be working good. I guess the PO used it hard and was not thinking the crud hurt or left it to hide.....
I took the opportunity while the hoe was off to pull the two swing cylinders which leak under load. My local Case dealer will get the job of rebuilding these as 750 foot pounds of torque seems like more than my garage vise and me want.
Am I correct in thinking that I can put a bypass hydraulic hose with quick disconnects on the lines coming from the loader control valve back to the hoe so I can use the loader/tractor while the repair is being done. Seems like that supply and return should keep flowing.
Hey AJ, thanks for the help. Ralph
