Don't know about the "tension" adjustment you are referring to, the clutch pressure is set on some pressure plates by the finger height and there is a fixture that dealers have to properly set them. It is a cast plate with a protrusion that comes out to the finger area and the fingers are set off the face of that tool to proper finger height. Most people do not have access to those tools. Free travel adjustment is another matter, the rod adjustment should be adjusted by lengthening if there is to little or shortening the rod that goes into the bell housing if ther is to much. The free traavel should be min 1.5 in.
