Got a buddy that has more stuff setting in the woods, in several places, than the law allows. One of those pieces of 'stuff' is an old Case tractor. It's in pretty bad shape having set out in the woods, in the open, for years. Still I can see potential in the old girl with an engine rebuild (plugs left out, unfortunately) and some TLC...especially since I can do the majority of thw work myself and the price is right...free except for trading this tractor and an old 630 Bobcat for some mechanic work on his good equipment.
My biggest problem is iedntifying exactly what model Case it is. First it's a 4 cylinder gas engine, has headlights in the grill(places the age around '58 from what I've found), on th sides origionally had a Case name plate on the sides of the nose and then a chrome strip along each side of the hood at the rear. The rear tires have flat spoked rims and weights and the rubber stands about 4-5 feet tall (approx). It has a three point hitch on the rear, power steering at the front, and an adjustable front axel length. The part about the Case-O-matic transmission is something I could just make out through the pealing/flaking paint. Beyond that I have no clue as to what model or anything else the machine is. Any advice on where to look for any actual identifying numbers, etc would be greatly appreciated. Or if you have some idea based on the description what model it is please let me know and I'll research it from there.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer. Wayne
