Yes, you will have to split the engine from the torque tube. the pump mounts to the back of the engine with three bolts, You might need a new or rebuilt pump, but the oil pump is driven with a pin through the cam shaft. I have seen this pin wore through. Most of these pumps can have the cover resurfaced and then work fine. After you split the tractor and remove the oil pump it will not be hard to see what your problem is. If the pin is broke you will have to remove the cam shaft. To support the engine I take the valve cover off and use the valve cover bolts to fasten a chain and use an engine lift. I use a jack stand to support the torque tube. It's not that big of a job. You will use up most of a day if you have every thing you need before you start. Good luck and ask for help as needed.
