While I'm sure there's plenty of "marketing" going on with razors, I got to admit that the new ones seems to work better and better. I used the single for a long time, then went to double blade disposable. It did work better. Then a few years back the wife gave me a three blade for xmas, and danged if that didn't work even better. Last year same thing for xmas, but this time a four blade. Yup, worked even better. I don't know if it's the number of blades or that the blade technology gets better as has been said above, I just know that bottom line is each generation works better than the last for me...
