Jim, We make pyansky- which is a ukranian style decorated egg that is unboiled, unbaked, unblown, yet stays good for - ever - given a few conditions. The egg has to be flawless- no crackes or weak points. It needs to breathe - keep it in a well ventilated place, not an air- tight container. It also needs to be kept from freezing or cracking. Eventually pyansky will dry out and dehydrate, so they won't stink even if they do break. It does not matter what day it was laid on - just the conditions. (So, take it out of the garage, check it for cracks, and put it someplace warm, well ventilated, and safe. If you leave it in the butter containter you will have a stinky mess.)
