They were a very popular model for the time. Either the primary tractor for small farms or secondary on larger farms of the mid 1970's era. I would guess many owners of such tractors when new would now be retiring. And that 30 series is getting old enough and combined with high hours. They are cheaper to replace with a reliable machine than to repair during prime season. A set of sleeves, clutch, brakes and tires cost more than what the tractor is worth. Lots good yet for the occasional use and hobby applications where personal time is not a factor. Personally haven't really noticed but now that you mention it.I'll be watching.

Today's Featured Article - The Revival of a John Deere Combine - by The Red, John Fritz. For several years I had been driving by a farm house on the west side of Indianapolis that had a John Deere combine parked in high weeds in a lot behind the house. The gentleman no longer farmed because the entire area was developed with housing and light industry. I had stopped several times and knocked on the door but no one would answer.
