Hay man, I've priced the gas at TSC and I'm not sure your welding supply did you a favor at those prices particularly if you have to keep exchanging with TSC. They also charge extra for a tank from another company. I guess it will work if your welding supply will exchange the TSC tank.
Problem is that your welding supplier gave you a tank the last time that was almost out of date. They should eat it as part of business as they could have given you a newer tank to start with. You ended up paying extra and they got the benefit of unloading their old tanks on people like you.
Moral of the story is to check the date on tanks to receive and refuse one that is close to out of date and also exchange before they go out of date unless you are on a rental contract with a supplier and you are using their tanks.
