I sprinkle lawn and garden soil insecticide all around the foundation on the outside of the house, and I use a product called "BUGMAX" on the rimjoists all around on the inside. I also spray the bugmax at the base of the kitchen cabinets with a healthy dose of it under the sink where the plumbing comes through the floor. I sometimes even spray it on the baseboards all around the house. I still see an occasional ant on the countertop, but we no longer have the infestations we had before. Both of the products I mentioned need to be applied several times per year. Gets rid of spiders, crickets, and several other insects also.
