A few days ago my ZA was running fine and holding 20-25lbs oil pressure. All of a sudden it now starts, builds pressure to 20lbs, but drops quickly to almost zero in 15-20 seconds. It will do this every time I start it. Adjusting the pressure will increase the pressure initially but it still drops in a few seconds. I have changed the gauge, cleaned the crankcase, oil pickup and oil lines of sludge. The oil pump adjustment passage looks good. I'm running a spin-on filter with 30wt oil. My next step is to pull the pump I guess, but I wanted to check here first. If the keys in the pump were broken it wouldn't generate any pressure, right? Any suggestions? I saw this same issue posted a few months ago on a ZT but never saw what the diagnosis or solution was.
