I quit smoking 47 years ago, so I guess I can't count that. I was smoking two packs a day when I met my wife of now 45 years. On our second date she admitted she's allergic to tobacco smoke, among other things. I took a pack of cigarettes out of my shirt pocket on the spot, threw them in a trash can, and haven't touched one since.
Now, at 76, overall I'd say I'm in better health than I was 30 or 40 years ago. Just have a few more random aches and pains I ignore. A few issues I had in my younger days have resolved themselves.
