i'm not sure how Amana is these days,but have you tried cleaning the coils and/or defrosting your fridge manually? i had a similar situation with a old chest type freezer...finally decided to replace it...got it out on the front porch and it dripped water for days...neighbor came by and asked if it ran and if it was for sale...plugged it in and 2 hours later it had already shut down at -10*...only time it shut down before was during a power failure. naturally i'd already bought a new one.
