I ran the new wiring harness on my tractor today(6 Volt system), then installed and polarized my voltage regulator. After I polaraized it, the amp gauge showed about a 20 amp discharge. Looked around and found that the Batt terminal on the regulator was HOT. I removed the wire, waited for everything to cool down, then re-installed the wire and it was fine again.
Any ideas on what caused this? I have been wiring old tractors for years, and have never seen this happen before. I double-checked the wiring, and everything is hooked up properly. I don't have the gas tank or radiator hooked up yet, so it will be a week or two before I find out if it's chaging or not. Thanks, Heath
