I can help a little, I have an 01 4wd Ranger extended cab. automatic. It is the heavier than normal version set up to pull trailer, even has F150 trans rather than Ranger trans (factory). Rated for 5500 pound trailer and has 4.10 rear end. nice rig, but only gets 20 mpg on highway. sure rides and drives nice though. At 80,000 miles and 10 years, my only out of warranty repair was a rear pinion seal.
