we bought the place we are living in in 1996..I remember filling the oil tank for .29/litre. Eight years ago we installed a combination wood/ oil furnace. Ran for the balance of that first winter with the oil coming on at 60 F After that first year the programable thermostat started giving trouble and the oil burner has not fired since. I guess that first tank of oil that was delivered when the furnace was new will have to wait a little longer to get burnt.
