Was raised around collies, now I've got an Aussie we found on craigslist. She came from a breeder in MO but the owner couldn't keep her due to her child having lukemia.
Left her at my parents when my wife and I drove to Iowa for a week and she herded the chickens when they got out.
We had a collie who had never been trained to herd, but he still helped to herd some of the cattle when they got out in late February quite a while back. He died about a week later but we never figured out what did it. Was a great dog to have as a kid.
