They had a big stink hereabouts several years ago when a group of Omaha police officers were going to Grand Island for some kind of meeting/training.
West of York, NE, on I-80 where the speed limit is 75, two of Omaha's marked police cruisers took it upon themselves to drive side by side at 55 mph, 20 below the limit. Apparently they were laughing between the two cars about what a traffic jam they were creating behind them.
Needless to say, Nebraska State Troopers on the scene were not amused, nor were Nebraska State Patrol HQ or the Omaha police command.
Can't recall what the final outcome was, if it was ever publicized, but they certainly didn't do anything to enhance the image of the Omaha PD.
