Well, let's look at from a farmer's point of view. If corn goes up or down on a daily trade at Chicago, does the grocer run over to the canned corn and adjust the price? Why do so many people think the oil companies control the price of oil when it's just like any other traded commodity? Traders think a commodity is in short supply and high demand so they buy it up. Are the copper miners responsible for wire prices being as high as they are? Do the timber cutters get cused for the prices of 2x4s and plywood? When you go in to buy new Wranglers and the price is up from the last time, are you going to blame the cottom farmer? Same way with corn, beef, hogs, rice, sugar etc. Corn and beef are at or nearly at record highs. Where is the crime there? Did the farmer cause this to happen? He's just the one that planted the corn, raised, harvested and sold it for the posted market value. Same thing with oil. You don't see anyone screaming at farmers for causing food prices to be at record highs. Everything is going up this year. We all need to ready.
